Races of all types can be found in all the clans; however each originated in a different geographic location. So you may find more of one race in each certain location then the others. For instance one clan located in the south may have more Shadowlikes then Quiekens and visa versa. 

When choosing a race you may pick one race to base your character off of however you may swap out two characteristics for another race. Be careful that they do not contrast each other.

Quiekens are folk who hail from the far northern regions, they are naturally small in stature and have very pale skin. They are best adapted to live in colder climates, there pale skin making it easier to soak in the nutrients of the sun’s rays which are diluted when it’s so far from the earth. While Quiekens may be small do not let that fool you into thinking they are weak. These small people are fast! And they use their tiny size to their advantage. Much like a Terrible Terror there attacks are usually accurate and precise.

Quiekens are natural meat eaters, they don’t care too much for veggies. Perhaps that’s why they are so small. But with some coaxing can be made to eat their lovely greens.

Quickens are a crafty bunch, they have a natural curiosity to figure out how things work and to tinker with them. They are often good at creating weapons and other gadgets.

        - Like the other races Quickens can be found in any clan. They have since moved on to live in even the southern parts of the Barbaric Archipelago. They are often the people who are always working to make the village life more efficient and convenient.

Ideal Jobs

 Hunters-  Due to their small stature they generally make the best hunters or trappers. They are often the ones tasked for bringing in food for the clan. While this job may be ideal for most Quiekens they can be found doing other tasks; really it depends on the individual.

Burly’s come from the west; they are tall and of a larger sturdier build then the Quiekens. They have a natural muscular build, with long limbs. Their women are also sturdily built and tend to have a very curvy body. They are slightly pale but not nearly as much as the Quiekens, but they are not as dark as the olived skinned folk of the east. Burlys being one of the largest races easily tower over most with their tall stature. They often make for an intimidating view if you see one of these folks running at you with an axe. But because of their large size they are not the quietest folks around, they often tend to make a lot of noise while walking about. Burlys are a strong bunch they out of all the other races they are naturally built for acts of strength. They are your heavy lifters, or fighters of the village. Often taking on jobs that require a lot of arm work. Such as smithing, or mining and such. They are never ones who are afraid of getting their hands dirty, which is also why you’ll find a Burlys hands often callused from days of work.

Burlys believe in a well-balanced life and they carry this aspect into all parts of their life. To much of something is never a good thing and neither is too little. They often are the ones who understand while work is important, so is taking a break every now and then and having a little fun.

Since they believe in a well-balanced life they also love the arts, particularly dance. If your give them a pint and a good beat chances are a round of lively dancing is guaranteed.

            - Burlys can be found in every clan, often they are the muscle of the tribe. If you ever need a hand they are the ones to give it. 

Ideal Jobs

Miners or Blacksmiths- Their strong build makes it easy for them to move heavy metals, and other objects.

Fishing- They also are well suited for life on the sea, especially when it comes to hauling in large nets filled with fish.

Barkskins come from the east, they are not quite as short as the Quiekens and not as tall as the Burlys. Although like the Burlys they naturally have smooth curvy features. Their skin is a dark olive brown, better suited for slightly warmer climates then the Burlys and Quiekens; which is very well since they do not like the cold very much. They are clam stoic folk who do not show their emotions very much, so they can be hard to judge when you first come across them. They naturally have calm dispositions and tend to be the most level headed of the Vikings. They are hard to anger but when they do they hold a long and steady grudge.

They are very patient folks who believe if you start something you should keep at it until you reach perfection. So naturally they value hard work and dedication. Even if a Barkskin dislikes something you won’t hear them complaining. They are also naturally a very polite bunch; even when angered you won’t see them break this characteristic.

Being such a patient bunch they excel in completing detailed tasks, whether it be with numbers, or fine arts. They often love the fine arts whether it be painting or poetry, usually all with a calm flare to them, even their music has a slow and calming quality.

            - Barkskins can be found in any clan, they are the rocks of the tribe. Often the most level headed of all the clan members they can be counted on to make a fair decision without putting their own feelings persuade it.

Ideal Jobs

Scholars- They often are the intellectuals of the village, often enjoying the calm that booking keeping brings.

Farmers-  If book keeping isn’t there cup of tea a Barkskin also usually are best suited for the detailed and tedious task of farming.

Shadowlikes like the name implies are dark skinned individuals that hail from the south where the sun can be brutal. They are tall like the Burlys however lanky and angular like the Quiekens. Shadowlikes usually have loud boisterous voices and always like to hear or tell a good story. They are a jack of all trades type of individuals with a large range of interest. They are a close knit individual who highly values the concept of family. They are not quick to anger and usually shake most insults off with a laugh. They are naturally accepting however if something is upsetting they will naturally voice it out; even if it’s a bit insulting. They are an honest bunch, sometimes bluntly so; but if you ever want an honest opinion find someone with Shadowlike in their blood. They are natural born protectors, and teachers, having the vigor to defend what they think is right and the patients to guide those into what they believe is the right choice.

Just like their voices they love everything to be lively, as such they don’t tend to like when things are quiet. They would be the individuals to find something to bang on or strum to make a beat. Thus they are lovers of music. They will often integrate music into whatever they do.

Because of their love for fun a Shadowlike is usually welcomed in any situation. However Barkskins who prefer the quite life may find them slightly annoying.

            - Shadowlikes are found in all the clans, they are usually the teachers or leaders of some kind. They enjoy having their hands in everything; and work well with all kinds. Usually Shadowlikes are the glue that holds the community together.

Ideal Jobs

Teachers- If you need guidance a Shadowlike is always a good person to go to, they are calm and accepting and if you’re doing something wrong they will always give you their honest opinion…whether you want it or not.
- Story Tellers, they value family and are often great remembers of things that have past. They naturally spin tales so often they are charged with the duty of passing history down through spoken word.
